Kuril Islands by the eyes of Ivan Demetievskii

Kuril Islands are stretched from Kamchatka peninsula to Hokkaido Island. Wonderful natural complex consist 56 islands. Kuril is the land of volcanoes, geysers and amazing nature. There are more than 150 volcanoes and 36 of them are active. Many of hot springs (geothermal springs) have the healing qualities.

Kurili is a part of the Extreme North territory. The climate here is quite harsh. Winters are long and very cold. Tsunami is a usual fact here because of seismic activity. The nature of islands  have a unique combination of different geographical zones (terrestrial biomess), of flora and fauna. Waterfalls, lakes, mineral and limnetic springs, mountain and conifer forests descending to mixed grass meadows  along the shore. Kuril is often compared with  arboretum where you can see at one time the bamboo thickets, lianas, leafed and conifer trees. If you would like to have a cruise along Kuril shore you could see many beautiful bays, volcanoes and capes.
Worth seeng:
Islands – Kunshir, Itupur, Shumshu, Matua.
Volcanoes – Alaid, Chikurachki, Fussa, Kudryaviy
Capes – Stolbchatiy, Lvinaya Past gulf.
